OEE - Apples and Oranges

We have been asked on many occasions what is a good level of overall equipment effectiveness (OEE). Whilst it may be possible to give an indication based on industry, type of equipment and level of complexity, it can be misleading to draw comparisons between different operations. You could end up comparing apples with oranges. For a real-life case study and a theoretical example, take a look at these slides which help explain why.
